What are you buying this May?

Personally, May is my favorite time to shop as it also happens to be my birthday month! It marks the time we can stock up for spring and summer all at once. Everything I buy in May I am fully confident I will wear throughout the summer, and that means that a little splurge here or there is A-OK in my book. Whether you are in the market for new shoes or you just like to score quality pieces you never knew you needed, I have your back. When shopping, I will try to focus more on why, not what. I will think more about why I might want something and what it is going to bring to my life instead of just chasing the next “what”. An update to the wrist does not have to cost a fortune there is plenty of luxe, elegant styles to spruce up an arm; in fact, some of the best watches are available for under £300. The watch that I have been enjoying lately, wearing the most and consistently puts a smile on my face, is the Geckota G-01 39mm Space Age Watch. This is because this watch tells a story, it reminds me of my first trip to Bali where I wore a very similar but cheaper watch (unfortunately did not know about Geckota watches back then). Geckota G-01 brings to mind all the work I am proud of doing there and the unforgettable memories I made with my mum. The Geckota G-01 39mm Watch - Image Credit: Geckota While any watch can accompany you on a journey, certain types of timepieces are particularly suited to travel and the G-01 falls into this bracket range. G-01 has a vintage-inspired face, genuine leather or a metal strap, Swiss Ronda Quartz movement and a Sapphire Crystal coating which is scratch proof. I have the Red Honeycomb watch which has this sporty yet classic look and will look good with literally everything. The G-01 design is very sturdy and can handle some travel abuse. If I had to pick another G-01, without a doubt I would pick the design of Night Sky watch. Blue sparkles on the dial look unique while silver and gold case allows to style the watch with either gold or silver jewellery. The Geckota G-01 39mm Watch - Image Credit: Geckota The G-01 watch is unisex, I know there is a lot of theory about unisex watches being men’s watches worn by women. However, I believe that a man’s watch is still a man’s watch on a woman’s wrist. Thus, the G-01 unisex watch becomes a women’s watch when on a women’s wrist and becomes a men’s watch when worn by a man. I believe it is a way of encouraging the idea of: if you like it, you should wear it! The G-01 has an oversized look with a larger dial and thicker strap. When wearing it, I felt very comfortable, the watch is practical and looks elegant and sporty at the same time which is perfect for travelling. I feel that larger size watches can help to accentuate the delicate lines of a women’s wrist. The Geckota G-01 39mm Watch - Image Credit: Geckota
My style usually leads me to pick out very feminine dress watches, however, when travelling I tend to wear a more “manly” looking watch. When I say manly, I mean a timepiece that is not specifically designed for feminine aesthetics, in smaller feminine size and which also often combines the appeal of jewellery. These types of watches make me feel stronger and more powerful due to their larger diameter and stronger design overall. After all, there is something timelessly chic about sporting an understated vintage-inspired timepiece. So, when you are browsing to buy the perfect watch for your next adventure, do yourself a favour by starting here: Geckota G-01. So, for any new additions to my watch collection, the main question in May will be “Why?”. Also, do not forget to share your May watch resolutions in the comment section below! And tell me your “Why”.
