Geckota: Crafting Timeless British Watches with Vintage Soul and Modern Precision
Tewkesbury, UK - May 31, 2025 - Geckota, a distinguished British microbrand, continues to captivate watch enthusiasts worldwide with its fusion of mid-century design aesthetics and contemporary watchmaking craftsmanship. Founded in 2012, Geckota has established itself as a purveyor of high-quality timepieces that marry classic design elements with modern engineering, offering a diverse portfolio that resonates with both collectors and everyday wearers.
Heritage-Inspired Collections
Geckota's collections, such as the Pioneer and Chronotimer series, pay homage to the golden era of horology while incorporating modern features suited for today's discerning watch enthusiasts. The Pioneer Classic Edition, for instance, showcases a cushion-style stainless steel case measuring 41.5mm in diameter, complemented by a dual-layer sunburst dial adorned with applied polished indices and hands treated with BGW9 Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility. Powering this timepiece is the dependable Seiko NH38 automatic movement, offering a power reserve of approximately 42 hours and operating with a deviation of around ±20 seconds per day.
Limited Editions and Exclusive Releases
Demonstrating a commitment to exclusivity and collectibility, Geckota frequently releases limited-edition models. The Classic Chronotimer Grey Wolf, limited to just 50 pieces, features a 41.5mm cushion-style stainless steel case and is powered by the hand-wound TY2901 chronograph movement, a 22-jewel calibre inspired by the vintage Swiss Venus 175. This movement boasts blued screws and polished, bevelled bridges with intricate patterns, delivering mechanical precision with every tick.
Innovative Dial Variations
Continuing to evolve its offerings, Geckota has introduced new dial variations to its Pioneer collection. The Brushed Black and Brushed Beige editions exude sophistication and timeless style, adding to the bold blue, green, red, and aqua dials already available. These subtle yet striking designs maintain the collection's reputation for comfort and high quality at an accessible price point.
Participation in Horological Events
Geckota is set to showcase its timepiece craftsmanship at the upcoming Bristol Watch Show 2025, scheduled for Saturday, 1 November 2025, at The Clifton Club in Bristol. This event provides an opportunity for attendees to explore and purchase timepieces from a curated selection of independent watchmakers, including Geckota, and engage with fellow watch enthusiasts in an elegant setting.
