We're excited to announce our Gen 2 S-01 Phalanx Special Operations watch. Built on the success of the Gen 1 the new model features a more graphite (similar to gunmetal) colour dial and bezel which creates a striking mechanical aesthetic. The bezel has also been redesigned to feature blue full lume numerals around 360 degrees and not just the luminous pip of the Gen 1. Decimal time is still used during operations so to reflect this we have retained decimal timing on the outer dial of the watch and, as with the Gen 1, any surface of the Phalanx that causes reflection has been subdued and in its place is a signature suppressed approach. To achieve the desired level of authenticity and accuracy, Geckota enlisted the help of an experienced special operations expert who was involved in the design of this watch from day one.

The watch is available in either PVD black, The Blackout, or subdued satin, The Intelligence model and come partnered with our Phalanx tactical set.

ABOUT THE PHALANX

Every aspect of this watch has been carefully considered. Dual luminescence colours remain with the bezel marker being different from the dial for accurate use at night. The offset screw-down crown at the 4 o'clock position ensures the utmost comfort when involved in outdoor activities such as diving, climbing, or professional operational use and a unique 20-minute bezel timer brings symmetry to the crown complementing the overall visual appeal of the watch. The principal objective of the watch being that it creates a platform with real operational viability but to also appeal as contemporary timepiece.

The watch is available in either PVD black, The Blackout, or subdued satin, The Intelligence model and both cases are fashioned out of 316L stainless steel which is known for capabilities of resisting sea water corrosion and impact deformation. With a water resistance of 300 metres (30ATM) this is an essential feature for any military style watch. To partner the case, the stainless-steel bezel features an aluminium insert widely loved and recognised for its light weight and ability to patina over time offering your timepiece a unique, aged look.

Behind the sapphire crystal equipped with anti-reflective coating is a simple yet clear dial. Featuring ‘sword’ style hands the hour hand falls purposely short of the hour track ensuring clear legibility whilst the second hand extends to the outer edge of the minute track leaving no question as to its position. The second hand extends past the minute track to the outer decimal track which splits minutes/hours into 100 equal parts as opposed to 60.

The S-01 Phalanx is powered by the ETA 2824-2, a Swiss-made automatic movement which has proved more than worthy of its ‘workhorse’ title. This durable movement measures 25.6mm in diameter with a thickness of 4.6mm. It provides central hours, minutes and second functions alongside a date complication. Each watch comes with a uniquely engraved case back and individual serial numbers with SF prefix.
