Protecting Our Customers from Fake Websites

We take enormous pride in the watches we design and the trust our customers place in us. That is why we want to make our community aware of an increasingly frustrating issue: fraudulent and unauthorised websites pretending to sell Geckota products.

Over recent months, we have become aware of a number of websites using our product names, imagery and descriptions in an attempt to appear legitimate. In some cases, these sites closely imitate the presentation of genuine product listings, making it harder for customers to distinguish between an official Geckota listing and a fake one at first glance.

This is deeply disappointing, not only because it misuses our brand, but because it risks misleading customers who are simply trying to buy with confidence. For independent brands, trust matters. Every watch we create is the result of careful design, development and attention to detail, and we believe our customers should feel completely secure when choosing to shop with us.

Unfortunately, fake websites often rely on urgency, unusually low prices and copied content to create the illusion of authenticity. While these sites may appear convincing, they are not connected to Geckota and are not authorised to represent our products or brand.

How to make sure you are shopping safely

The safest way to purchase a genuine Geckota watch or accessory is through our official website and our recognised sales channels. If you are unsure whether a website is genuine, we recommend checking a few key details before making a purchase.

Look closely at the website address. Fraudulent websites often use unfamiliar domain names that have no clear connection to our brand. Be cautious of websites offering Geckota products alongside unrelated categories, or stores whose branding appears inconsistent with specialist watch retail.

Pricing can also be a warning sign. If a current or popular product is being offered at a dramatic discount that seems too good to be true, it should be treated with caution.

You should also pay attention to the overall quality of the site. Poor formatting, strange product descriptions, copied imagery, awkward wording and a lack of clear company information are all potential red flags. A legitimate retailer should be transparent about who they are, how to contact them and how their ordering process works.

What to do if you are unsure

If you come across a website claiming to sell Geckota products and you are not certain whether it is genuine, please contact us before placing an order. We would always rather help you verify a seller than see a customer misled by a fraudulent listing.

If you believe you may already have purchased from a suspicious website, we recommend contacting your payment provider as soon as possible and reporting the issue to the relevant platform or marketplace. You are also welcome to get in touch with us so that we can log the website and continue taking action where possible.

Our commitment

We are actively monitoring this issue and working to report websites that misuse our brand, product imagery and written content. While the internet makes it easier than ever for independent brands to reach customers around the world, it also creates opportunities for bad actors to imitate legitimate businesses. We are committed to protecting both our work and our customers from that misuse.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of the Geckota community. Your trust means a great deal to us, and we will continue doing everything we can to preserve it.

If in doubt, please shop directly with us or contact our team for reassurance before purchasing.
