Geckota watches are designed with you in mind. They are vibrant, meticulous, and elegant watches, perfect for watch enthusiasts and first-time watch buyers alike. Our design team takes extreme pride in the products that Geckota produces, ensuring that all our watches are stylish, timeless, and affordable. Geckota continues to be a successful, ever-growing and dynamic company that believes in a progressive approach when designing, selling and marketing our pieces. We always design to our best capabilities, taking inspiration from both past and present creations to craft standout, lustrous watches. With full control over design, materials, specifications, marketing, and even despatch, we perfect every little detail and provide you with sophisticated and distinguished products.

Our History

  • 2009

    The Start of an Adventure

    Jon Quinn, the founder of Geckota was driven by a passion for watches and his natural entrepreneurial spirit and he started to build the foundation of a business. In his spare time Jon bought and sold watches on eBay.

  • 2012

    Domain Registration

    On May 14th, 2012, the brand's domain name was registered, marking the official start of the journey.

  • 2013

    Business Premises

    The business becomes too big for the spare room and an office is found locally. Now that the business has moved away from the house we start to employ additional staff to help the company to grow. The company starts to develop a range of watches in addition to replacement watch straps.

  • 2014

    Three models are launched

    The company has 5 employees. The Geckota K1, Geckota K2, Geckota K3 watch models are launched.

  • 2015

    Two further models

    The Geckota K4 and Geckota ZD1 watches are released.

  • 2016

    K1 becomes best seller

    The Geckota K1 continues to be our best selling watch and numerous new models are released.

  • 2017

    Continuing to grow

    The company has 10 members of staff and continues to expand and moves to larger premises. The Geckota C1 is launched this year.

  • 2018

    New website

    The company has 18 members of staff. The Geckota watch range starts to take shape and a new transactional website is launched for the brand. Several new watch models are released towards the end of the year.

  • 2019


    The company continues to invest in new product development and launches several new watch models.

  • 2020

    FORZO watches

    The motor-sport themed FORZO watches brand is launched and we start to build partnerships with several high profile brand ambassadors.

    COVID strikes and this makes things challenging for us.  Thankfully online retailers are able to stay open but international shipping becomes unreliable and we see a drop in our international sales.  Despite these challenges the business continues to grow.

  • 2021

    Protecting the environment

    We start working with OneTribe and every purchase helps to protect the rain-forest.

    We now have 19 members of staff and in addition to the Geckota Watches website, we have 4 additional websites offering watch related products.

    This year, BREXIT adds to the challenges of COVID-19 and we see further drops in international sales.

  • 2022

    Renewed Optimism

    With COVID behind us, we start this year we start to get back to normal. Employees are returing to the office and the delays that were cause by a reduction in factory output are starting to ease. Several projects that were on hold begin to materialise.

  • 2023


    Following over a year of internal design and development we launch a new model, the Ocean-Scout.

    With numberous exciting dial and strap options and a totally new case design, several of the first editions quickly sell out.

  • 2024

    Mechanical Prototypes

    We have been working on the evolution of the range and post images on social media that show off our ideas. The new models will all feature mechanical movements and will be available to pre-order before the end of the year.
