FORZO was a stand-alone idea that we came up with a few years ago, as we all love the golden age of driving watches: legendary chronographs such as the Heuer Autavia, Enicar SherpaGraph, and Rolex Daytona. The problem is that it becomes increasingly hard to get hold of them. So we decided to pay tribute to these icons with our own brand of automotive watches, carefully curated in every detail. These are honestly some of the best driving watches you can buy, as so much love, knowledge, and thought has gone into each one of them. And now the entire range of FORZO watches is also available on Geckota here.

There are currently two families of FORZO watches available: the Drive King and the EnduraTimer, featuring a variety of movements and dial colours. Those colours range from the traditional – black, white and cream panda dials – to vibrantly colourful lime green and orange.

There’s a watch to suit every taste, with one of the best-selling colours being British Racing Green in both the Drive King and EnduraTimer ranges. Colours in motorsport have always been symbolic of each country, so it was important to incorporate these national racing colours within the range, given that authenticity has always been the watchword of FORZO. What most people probably don’t realise is that British Racing Green actually started out by accident, when the Bentley team, visiting Ireland, decided to paint their cars green as a tribute to the Emerald Isle – and the colour stuck. Since then, it’s been part of racing tradition.

The Drive King is a 40mm racing-style chronograph that offers impeccable clarity thanks to its thick sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and generously applied lume. The dials feature a multi-layer design with applied indices and tachymeter scale, as well as a contrasting seconds hand and recessed subdials.

Powering the range is a reliable Seiko VK64 mecha-quartz movement, providing the precision of a quartz movement with mechanical features like a sweeping chronograph hand. Alternatively, there’s a Seagull mechanical movement available too, for those who prefer their watches even more traditional. The solid 316L stainless steel case has polished and brushed textures with a water resistance of 100 metres. The Drive King also features a bi-directional 60-click 12 hour bezel with a crisply-finished aluminium insert, perfect for keeping track of a second time zone.

Like the EnduraTimer, the Drive King was created to be a celebration of motorsport culture and aesthetics. This British-designed watch is the result of thousands of hours of painstaking research into the perfect motorsport timepiece, considering the trends and references of the time. Following the creation of numerous different designs and prototypes, tested by experts in the field, the Drive King was signed off as our archetypal driving watch: as practical as it is beautiful.

The EnduraTimer is another modern masterpiece, reflected in the classic three-dial design layout. Underneath though, it’s the same familiar and reliable horological architecture that has made FORZO the watch brand chosen by exclusive racing and supercar manufacturer Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, competing at the Le Mans 24 Hours and making bespoke road cars for discerning customers.

The Le Mans 24 Hours is one of the world’s greatest tests of endurance, mechanical prowess and racing guile. Time, inevitably, plays a crucial part in the race. The Glickenhaus team first partnered with FORZO as its official watch supplier in 2020 and have produced an elegant and stylish limited-edition timepiece for each Le Mans appearance, some of which are still available.

The 40mm EnduraTimer Chronograph uses a Seiko VK63 mecha-quartz movement, from Japan. This calibre is widely used by many watch brands as it mimics the functionality of a mechanical chronograph movement with an instantly resetting seconds hand whilst also offering the reliability of a quartz movement. Other features include applied indices and a signed FORZO clasp, adding to the outstanding craftsmanship of this watch, which is backed up by a two-year guarantee.

The nod to the Rolex Daytona is there of course – perhaps the archetypal motorsport watch – especially in timeless cream with panda subdials. But the EnduraTimer is sufficiently different to have its own personality, being somehow neater, more compact, and even more jewel-like than the Daytona. High praise, but the EnduraTimer deserves it. The name itself evokes the typical ethos of endurance racing where timing was of the essence, meaning that drivers and teams often wore chronographs to measure their speed against the clock.

The classic design of these stainless steel sports watches recalls the timepieces of the 1960s that are still popular now, and the latest FORZO models feature the colour schemes that were prevalent during this thrilling era, combining vintage style with instant legibility.

So the EnduraTimer is not just for people who enjoy cars and motorsport, but for anyone who appreciates classic watchmaking with designs that stand the test of time. Suitable for any occasion, the EnduraTimer retails from £449, while the Drive King range begins at £649.

Having benefitted from more than a year and a half of development and historical research, the FORZO EnduraTimer and Drive King are set to become accessible classics in the watch-collecting world, known for their period detail, unprecedented build quality, and enduring heritage.
