The Workshop Model 2 Chronograph Collection

The Workshop Model 2 Chronograph Collection captures the character of some of watchmaking’s most enduring design eras, combining vintage-inspired styling with the appeal of a mechanical chronograph. First introduced in August 2019 alongside the Model 1, the Model 2 brought a chronograph to the Workshop collection and established the range’s elegant, classically proportioned design language.

At the heart of the original Model 2 is a silver-stamped grain dial, framed by a smooth recessed outer ring with tachymeter markings for a crisp, balanced look. Chamfered hands, elongated indices and heat-blued chronograph and subdial hands bring extra depth and contrast to the dial, while the central chronograph seconds hand remains poised until activated by the upper pusher. Available in three classic case finishes and paired with a supple leather strap, the Model 2 was designed to deliver traditional chronograph charm with a refined dress-watch feel.

The collection later expanded with the military design, a model inspired by the iconic military chronographs of the 1950s and 1960s. Designed for clarity and practicality, it features an ultra-legible dial, vintage lume and a telemeter scale — a detail rooted in the functional language of historical field and artillery timing instruments. Offered with either black or white subdials, this version brings a more utilitarian edge to the Workshop chronograph while retaining the same elegant case design and movement found across the Model 2 range.

The Model 2 racing design takes its cues from another golden era, drawing on the unmistakable appeal of classic motorsport chronographs. Available in two colour options, the racing edition features bold contrasting subdials in the familiar panda and reverse panda style. A 30-minute counter sits on the right, with running seconds on the left, while polished hands and indices with touches of lume help preserve strong legibility and period-correct character.

Powering the collection is the Sea-Gull TY2901 hand-wound mechanical chronograph movement, offering around 42 hours of power reserve and visible through an exhibition caseback. Across the Workshop range, the Model 2 shares the same case shape as the Model 1, measuring 37mm across with a 47mm lug-to-lug and 18mm lug width — proportions that give the watch its balanced, vintage-inspired presence on the wrist.

Whether your preference leans toward the understated elegance of the original chronograph, the purposeful style of the military edition or the energetic character of the racing models, the Workshop Model 2 Chronograph Collection offers a distinctive mechanical chronograph experience shaped by the best of vintage design.
